Villa Raisi
The project concerns the repair and seismic improvement of a historic masonry building severely damaged by the earthquake of 29 May 2012.
The main purpose of the project was to recover the structure in its entirety, ensuring its static safety and improving the seismic behaviour of the building, while paying particular attention to elements of considerable value or clear historical significance.
The most significant part of the project was the repair and consolidation of the large central dome made of solid brick masonry, which was severely damaged by the earthquake.
The intervention provided for the consolidation of the dome by means of extrados wrapping with steel fibre fabrics, connected to the dome through steel fan-shaped anchors inserted in the masonry, and natural lime mortars.
