Flyeye Telescope

The telescope nicknamed “Flyeye” is an innovative telescope developed by ESA that splits its view into several smaller sub-images, significantly widening the field of view, just as a fly’s compound eye does.

For OHB Italia, ASDEA performed a linear dynamic analysis to evaluate the magnitude of the accelerations acting on the telescope, with particular attention to its delicate optics.

ASDEA also designed the base of the telescope so that its natural frequencies would not alter the behaviour of the telescope during a seismic event.
